Job Description
- Starting at $71,208- $86,494 a year

- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax laws.
- Review payroll tax withholding setups for employees and make corrections as needed.
- Prepare, review, and file payroll tax returns (monthly, quarterly, and annual), including forms such as 941, 940, state unemployment, and local tax filings.
- Process timely tax deposits and payments to government agencies.
- Reconcile payroll tax accounts and investigate variances.
- Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.
- Perform regular audits of payroll tax data and employee records.
- Assist with year-end reporting, including W-2s, W-3s, and amendments.
- Generate and analyze payroll tax reports to identify trends, risks, and errors.
- Collaborate with HR, Payroll, and Finance teams to resolve tax issues.
- Work with payroll software systems (ADP, Workday, Ceridian, Oracle, etc.) to maintain correct tax configurations.
- Support process improvements and automation of payroll tax workflows.
- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function includes preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
- Experience with multi-state payroll and tax reciprocity rules.
- Familiarity with federal and state e-filing portals.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, intermediate proficiency in Excel.
- Proficient with payroll software, ADP experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Working knowledge of relevant legal regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (preferred).
- 2–5 years of payroll tax or payroll operations experience.
- Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations (federal, multi-state, and local).
- Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- CPP or FPC certification (a plus)
